Kayak Tours

For up close and personal explorations near Dominical we have Kayaking tours! Whether you prefer in the ocean paddling along the coast of Costa Ballena and enjoy the beautiful scenery and natural formations that make it's beaches unique. This tour stops at Playa Ventanas (Windows Beach) to see its tunnels in the cliffs that look like impressive windows.

If you prefer more still waters of the Mangrove kayak tour you can discover the beauty of its canals and enjoy the great variety of flora and fauna that this estuary offers. Along the way you will have the opportunity to see different types of mangrove trees and learn the importance of their ecosystem.

 

 

Learn to SURF!

Beginner and Intermediate lessons and advanced surf camp available any day, everyday!

The lessons are normally 2 hours long during which you learn basic fundamentals necessary to get up properly on your surfboard and ride a wave!

Progress your learning to ride the green waves getting more personalized tips and instruction. 

Doing well? Progress even further joining a top surf coach who will take you out and share his own knowledge.  This coaching is aimed at surfers looking to advance their surfing techniques.  It will enable you as an aspiring rider to get more out of your surfing and up your performance in the water.

Snorkling !

There are several beautiful great area for snorkeling around Dominical.

The beautiful Marine Whale National Reserve is 30 minutes south of Dominical where you can snorkel around the coral that surrounds the famous whales tale beach.

This National Reserve is formed by 110 hectares of coast and 5,400 hectares of protected ocean territory. It's waters are overlooked by the lush green mountains of the Fila Costeña Range. The reserve has been named after the migration of whales that come to mate between January through April and August through November. It also has a sand bar in the shape of a whale’s tale. This is an ideal spot to snorkel!

 

Another good place is snorkeling and swimming in the clear waters of the Caño Island Biological Reserve and Violines Island.  Located 10 miles (16 km) offshore from the Osa Peninsula, Caño Island is a tropical paradise filled with white-sand, palm-lined beaches and impressive coral reefs. The island's beaches are a great place to relax and sunbathe, and are occasionally frequented by olive ridley sea turtles who come ashore to lay their eggs. 

With a visibility of 20 ft. or more and a protected inshore reef, the snorkeling here is excellent. Snorkelers have the chance to spot parrotfish, surgeon fish, barber fish, eels, snapper, puffers, barracudas, turtles, and manta rays. Further offshore, humpback whales and bottle-nosed dolphins can occasionally be seen.   This is an all day tour. The tour departs from Punta Uvita at 7:30 a.m. and arrives at Caño Island around 9 a.m. During the boat ride to Caño Island you may be able to spot whales, dolphins, sea turtles, and marine birds.  The boat will arrive in Uvita around 4:00 p.m.
